What people get wrong about ‘figuring it out’ Part III
One of the biggest pieces that people get wrong about ‘figuring it out’ is looking outwards towards the external— when the answer lies WITHIN.
We seek other people’s approval,
Measure our success compared to others,
Let someone’s pretty vacation pictures make us feel bad about staying home,
Or letting someone’s cozy photos from home make us feel bad about wanting to explore.
We seek other’s advice, wisdom, and counsel without ever consulting and sitting with the one person who matters most— you.
“Figuring it out” doesn’t make sense if you’re trying to figure out how to change careers to something more glamorous when what you really crave is reliability and consistency.
“Figuring it out” doesn’t make sense if you’re trying to figure out how to afford a bigger house when what you really want is less responsibility and more freedom.
“Figuring it out” doesn’t make sense if you’re trying to figure out how to be more productive when what you really need is permission to rest.
It doesn’t work when you’re solving someone else’s problem instead of your own.
The real work—the work that actually moves the needle—is getting quiet enough to hear what you actually want. Not what sounds good at a dinner party. Not what would look impressive on LinkedIn. Not what your parents hoped for or your friends are doing.
What do you want?
That’s the question most people skip right over. And it’s the only one that matters.
You can’t figure out where you’re going if you don’t know what it is you truly want.
So before you reach for the external— research another thing, consume another piece of content, or ask another person what they think you should do, I invite you to sit with your greatest council— yourself.
Listen.
The answer is already there.
If you’re ready to cut through the noise and reconnect with what you truly want, I work 1:1 with a small number of clients to help them reconnect with their True Nature and create a life that feels aligned. [Let’s talk →]
