Full Moon Guidance: Spirit Moon
The first full moon in January is the Spirit moon, according to Asha Frost in her book, You are the Medicine, and is named for Thunderbird when the moon, stars, and planets grew jealous of the sun’s brilliance and conspired to steal the sun’s light.
Thunderbird heard the scheme and stopped the other celestial beings, reminding them of their own radiant, shining beauty. Each had their own light to shine— they didn’t need to steal someone else’s.
It’s a fitting anecdote to ponder as we head into a new year. There is much promise and potential that lies ahead, and we can get caught up looking outside of ourselves for the answer— or for the solution.
This can look like “I’ll be happy when…”
… I lose that weight.
… change my job.
… have more money.
But the reality is that we create our lives. Whatever circumstance you’re in now, you’ve had a hand in creating it— through your choices, your patterns, your beliefs.
Which means you can create another, different situation, a life that is more aligned with you.
You’re made of stardust, forged through the trials and tribulations of thousands of ancestors that came before you.
Take a lesson from Thunderbird. Remember your own radiant light within. You don’t need to look outside yourself for permission to shine.
If you’re ready to cut through the noise and reconnect with what you truly want, I work 1:1 with a small number of clients to help them reconnect with their True Nature and create a life that’s theirs. [Let’s talk →]
